This is the Canadian multi-instrumentalist/producer/singer-songwriter’s fifth album on his own label. Recorded in his garage on his own make-do-and-mend collection of vintage and analogue equipment. Loping instrumentation backs his laconic vocals for a prairie trail-ride’s worth of soothing songs. Smooth soulful synth sounds in a minor key meld with a slide guitar to send it all back home. Simple songs but moody and atmospheric with haunting melodies from everyone’s favourite backporch singer.
